This chapter explains the PlantTools Suite Installer utility.
The PlantTools Suite Installer is a utility that downloads and installs multiple PlantTools installers. By default, launching the installer interactively lets you pick which components to download and how to run each sub-installer. Two optional command line (the Windows Command Line, not the AutoCAD Command Line) parameters, /p and /o, let you preconfigure those choices for unattended or repeatable deployments.
If you start the PlantTools Suite Installer.exe you can select the PlantTools you want to download and install. The app will always show the latest released version from our server.
On the next page you can select the Installation Mode. •Full Silent – Run each installer with /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /SP- for a fully unattended installation with automatic dialog suppression. •Silent – Run each installer with /SILENT, suppressing most UI while still showing progress. •Interactive – Launch each installer interactively with no additional parameters. This is comparable to just start the Setup.exe from one of the PlantTools. •Download Only – Download each selected installer into the PlantTools Suite folder under the current user's Downloads directory, but do not execute them.
If you click on Next, then the selected PlantTools will be downloaded.
Next they will be installed (unless you opted for Download only.

Basic syntax: PlantTools Suite Installer.exe [/p "component_list" ] [/o "mode" ] Both switches are optional; you may supply either, both, or neither. Quotes are recommended because the values contain commas or spaces. Component selection: /p /p accepts a comma-separated list of component acronyms. The installer will only download (and optionally install) the components you list. Valid acronyms are: •PDM – PlantDataManager •PET – PlantExpressTools •PL – PlantLink •PR – PlantReporter •PSD – PlantSpecDriven •PS – PlantSync •ALL – All PlantTools Additional details: •Values are case-insensitive. •You can provide the special value ALL to select every component. •Omitting /p (or supplying no valid acronyms) defaults to selecting all components. •Invalid acronyms trigger an error message and prevent the installer from continuing until corrected. Execution mode: /o /o chooses how each selected component installer runs once it has been downloaded. The setting applies to every component in the session. Accepted values are: •FULL – Launch each installer interactively with no additional parameters (this matches the default behavior when /o is omitted). •SILENT – Run each installer with /SILENT, suppressing most UI while still showing progress. •VERYSILENT – Run each installer with /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /SP- for a fully unattended installation with automatic dialog suppression. •DOWNLOAD – Download each selected installer into the PlantTools Suite folder under the current user's Downloads directory, but do not execute them. General notes: •The /o value is case-insensitive; invalid values result in an error message. •When /o "DOWNLOAD" is used, all selected installers are saved but never executed, enabling offline redistribution. •Unless /o is specified, the installer displays a mode-selection page where you can pick between interactive, silent, very silent, or download-only modes. •Downloads are stored in %USERPROFILE%\Downloads\PlantTools Suite Installer\ when possible; if that directory cannot be created, the installer falls back to its temporary folder. Examples: •Download and install PlantDataManager and PlantReporter silently: PlantTools Suite Installer.exe /p "PDM,PR" /o "SILENT" •Download all installers without running them: PlantTools Suite Installer.exe /o "DOWNLOAD" •Run the installer interactively but preselect PlantExpressTools only: PlantTools Suite Installer.exe /p "PET" |
