Automatic Mapping

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The chapter describes how mapped properties can be automatically copied when connecting OPCs.

Tree Settings

The properties of PipeLines/SignalLines and the Connector class can be automatically copied when you connect two OPCs. By default, the 'Mapping/Propagation Direction' is set to 'Drag & Drop Direction' which will then automatically copy the values in the direction from the dragged OPC node to the receiving OPC node. If you don't want automatic copying you can select 'None'. That means, that you have to use the context menu later to copy One or ALL values between the connected OPCs.

You can check the box for each mapped property individually.

Connecting

No we connect OPCs again using the same example from Connecting.

We wait again.

But now the Mapping Grid doesn't show any inconsistency. We see, that the mapped values are already copied. When you drag and drop, the property values of the dragged OPC will be copied into the OPC you drop on.

The state in the trees shows 'Connected' (green) of course.
