Using Vault Professional

An alternative to using "Check Out" and "Check In" is using the Vault Professional Client.

Let's start with the same situation where we just opened the project from fault and the "Related Files" folder is empty.

Now we launch the "Autodesk Vault" from the Vault ribbon.

The following dialog appears (if not already suppressed) where we select "Launch Autodesk Vault".

After logging in we select the project and use "Get..." from the "Related Files" folder.

By default, the second function is selected and we simply click on "OK".

Now we see a circle icon in Vault Professional.

And the files are on our local project copy.

We see them also in Project Manager.

Here we start the PT_Unpack.bat too.
